Nottingham Forest take on Preston North End this afternoon as the curtain comes down on the 2020/21 campaign at the City Ground.
Both the Reds and Preston have nothing to play for and this afternoon’s fixture sees nothing more than three points and a bit of pride up for grabs.
Forest were held to a goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday last week as Lewis Grabban missed a first-half penalty at Hillsborough.
The Reds did play pretty well, however, and they’ll look to produce a similar performance level in today’s final game.
Ahead of this afternoon’s game we looked at how the Reds might line-up against Preston.
In goal and back four
Brice Samba has been the first choice between the posts this season and looks set to keep goal this afternoon.
There could be changes elsewhere though as Hughton ponders some changes.
Cyrus Christie and Yuri Ribeiro should start in the full-back positions. Both could be set to play their final games for the club, with Christie returning to Fulham and Ribeiro out of contract.
At centre-back, Michael Dawson could be set to win his first start of the season and his last for the Reds.
His contract expires in the summer and at 37 he could move into a coaching role at the club.
The defender could start alongside Joe Worrall at the back, with Scott McKenna dropping to the bench.
James Garner will play his last game for the club after his loan from Manchester United. Supporters will hope he can be re-added to the squad ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Alongside him it seems as though Ryan Yates will get the nod to start ahead of Cafu.
Samba Sow is also in contention after returning from an injury problem.
Anthony Knockaert and Filip Krovinovic are set to play their final games as their respective loans come to and end.
Both have perhaps struggled for consistency and it remains to be seen whether Hughton will try and re-sign either next season.
On the left, Alex Mighten looks set to start, whilst Lewis Grabban should keep his place in attack despite his penalty miss last week.
Here is how today’s team might look:
